Financial Assistance

Beginning full-time students may be awarded teaching assistantships that carry a twelve-month stipend of $34,950.00, which includes $29,950.00 for the academic year (9 months) and $5,000 for summer (3 months), provided you maintain satisfactory academic progress. This opportunity allows students to gain experience while teaching in undergraduate laboratory courses. It requires approximately 16 hours of work per week during the academic year. Students who have completed the first academic year may be awarded a research assistantship. In general, all graduate students in good standing will receive either Teaching or Research Assistantships during their entire tenure in our program of study. However, in order to qualify for a teaching assistantship student whose native language is not English need to pass a verbal English Proficiency Exam (SPEAK exam). Maytag and University of Miami fellowships are available to outstanding applicants and are similarly valued. All graduate fellowships are accompanied by a full tuition scholarship. Application for financial aid is made on the application form for admission.

Tuition and Fees

The current tuition per credit hour rate may be found at Tuition and Fee Rates. Some fees depend upon full-time status or number of credits taken. This is determined by the sum total of semester credits carried by the student in all divisions. Graduate Students are classified full-time if they carry nine (9) or more credits in a regular semester.
