We have two Langmuir-Blodgett deposition troughs. The one above is built by Kibron Inc. while the one below is homebuilt:
While for the Kibron through around 75 mL are sufficient for a single measurement the homebuilt through requires not less than 1 gallon of water. Even so, the advance of the homebuilt trough is that knowing the number of layers that one wants to deposit its sufficient to input the number of cycles and the deposition will proceed automatically while for the Kibron trough the deposition requires the presence of a person in the lab for each layer deposited.
